Intro to the Plant Path is just this, a place to begin, connect and thrive in a community of folks all coming together to share in the joy of learning about plant medicine.
The Origins of the Holistic Herbalism Program
Since 2003, Colleen Emery has been leading workshops and programs all about Herbal and Aromatic Medicine, enriching the lives of many folks interested in improving their wellness and learning about the plant path.
Starting in 2015, Colleen shared the very first instalment of the Holistic Herbalism Program Intensive. The program at that time was a culmination of 15 years of writing curriculum, developing and leading workshops to a variety of groups of people.
The program has grown in the past 7 years to be a full immersion into world of herbal medicine study offering both an advanced clinical level as well as the original foundations level. Both offerings of these programs are a full engagement into the Holistic perspective of Herbalism, offering near to 1000 hours of dynamic and involved education.
Over the years of offering programming to our community, both onsite at our Teaching Centre in the West Kootenay mountain region as well as in our online classroom to those further afield, we have come to know that many of you are looking for a way to deepen your connection to the natural world while making community connections that inspire ongoing education and access to herbal medicine.
These past two years have also shown us that we are all seeking connection that provides access to care that is Holistically represented and honours the wisdom of the plant world in tandem to our own innate health potential.
With this in mind and by popular request we are pleased to announce the launch of a brand new program engagement: Holistic Herbalism Intro to the Plant Path.
This 15 hour program is designed to be the starting point for those on the herbal medicine education journey and/or an opportunity for herb loving folks to get connected and be involved in a community of herbalism.
This introductory journey into the Plant World includes:
- Botany, Plant Classification and Identification
- The Taste of Herbs and Organoleptic Processes
- Building Plant Relationship with Medicine Making
All classes will be live-streamed in real time with interactive engagement for the onsite classroom. Classes are recorded and available for students to access after the class to re-watch and deepen their connection to the content.
Classes will run on Saturdays from 9:30 am – 5:00 pm, September 10th and October 1st, 2022.
Please note this program is a requirement for the Holistic Herbalism Foundations Program starting in October of 2022.

Registration for this program is capped at 20 students with 5 seats available in the onsite, in person classroom and 15 seats available in the online classroom. Priority seating with be offered to those carrying on to the Holistic Herbalism Foundations Program
Investment
Total Investment for the program is $175.00 plus GST.
We offer scholarship positions for BIPOC LGBTQ2+ individuals.
Onsite access is capped at 5 students.
Online registration is capped at 15 students.
