Elizabeth Ouellette

Medical Herbalist, Dip. Phyt., RHT (BCHA)

Liz has felt a deep connection to plants and the natural world since her childhood, growing up camping and canoeing with her family in Ontario. In her twenties, she studied Anthropology at McMaster University, where her fascination with the relationship between plants and people really took root. She then spent nearly a decade working in remote areas of British Columbia, where she developed a meaningful relationship with native medicinal plants. She began working with these plants and saw the profound impact they could have on people’s lives.

These experiences led her to complete the Chartered Herbalist Diploma Program through Dominion Herbal College in 2017. In 2024, she graduated as valedictorian of the Phytotherapy Diploma Program at Pacific Rim College, where she gained over 500 hours of clinical herbal training. Since graduating, she has started a small herbal product business, Gavia Herbals, and worked on a small organic farm, gaining hands-on experience growing medicinal plants.

Liz feels truly honoured and excited to continue honing her clinical skills under the mentorship of Colleen at Emery Herbals. Her greatest passion is helping others achieve meaningful, holistic wellness, and she feels deeply committed to serving her community through sharing the healing power of plants with others.
