Colleen Emery

Colleen Emery & Emery Herbals acknowledge that we operate on the traditional, ancestral and unceded təmxʷulaʔxʷ (homeland) of the Sinixt Peoples. We show our respect for this land and its people by committing to giving back in ways that honour and support the Sinixt.

The wonder and magic of Nature has been present in Colleen Emery’s life from a young age, shaping and cultivating her connection to the natural world. Professionally involved in the Healing Arts for over twenty years, Colleen brings a diverse toolbox of skills that have been honed through continued formal education, apprenticeship, clinical experience and connection to generational folk arts.

Committed to a journey of life-long learning, Colleen has formerly studied with many institutes and mentors including most recently with David Winston and his Centre for Herbal Studies. Colleen maintains professional membership as a Registered Herbal Therapist (RHT) with the British Columbia Herbalists Association.

Colleen Emery is a Clinical Herbalist who has been in a client centred, barrier free herbal medicine practice for over two decades.

Educated and experienced in both Eastern and Western focused Herbal Medicine and Clinical Aromatherapy, Colleen’s practice mandates affordable care for all ages with a focus on reproductive wellness, children’s health and eldercare along with complex health conditions.

Colleen balances her approach by bridging traditional knowledge of plant medicines with up to date clinical research and hands on experience cultivated through two decades of client focused clinical work.

After having an urban, home based practice for over a decade, in 2012 Colleen created Emery Herbals Botanical Dispensary, Healing Suites and Teaching Centre in the West Kootenay Mountains in Winlaw, BC.

Emery Herbals provides open access to consciously sourced botanicals, professional health services and empowering education experiences that encourage and cultivate sustained wellness.

Colleen is passionate about empowering individuals and families to take charge of their wellness through fostering traditional skills and connection to the natural world. Offering access to both onsite and live, online workshops and programs, Emery Herbals provides education opportunities on numerous topics including single day skill building workshops and longer more involved professional herbal and aromatic medicine training programs.

In the past 5 years Colleen’s focus has been on providing access to herbal medicine training for senior students interested in obtaining clinical hours and support for client centred, energetic clinical herbal education and training experience.

Colleen sits as President of the British Columbia Herbalist’s Association (BCHA).  Colleen co-organizes the Kootenay Herb Conference,  the Vancouver Island Herb Gathering & the Canadian Herb Conference and is on the faculty of the Wild Rose College.
