The wonder and magic of Nature has been present in Colleen Emery’s life from a young age, shaping and cultivating her connection to the natural world. Professionally involved in the Healing Arts for over twenty years, Colleen brings a diverse toolbox of skills that have been honed through continued formal education, apprenticeship, clinical experience and connection to generational folk arts.
Committed to a journey of life-long learning, Colleen has formerly studied with many institutes and mentors including most recently with David Winston and his Centre for Herbal Studies. Colleen maintains professional membership as a Registered Herbal Therapist (RHT) with the British Columbia Herbalists Association.
Educated and experienced in both Eastern and Western focused Herbal Medicine and Clinical Aromatherapy, Colleen’s practice mandates affordable care for all ages with a focus on reproductive wellness, children’s health and eldercare along with complex health conditions. Colleen balances her approach by bridging traditional knowledge of plant medicines with up to date clinical research and hands on experience cultivated through two decades of client focused clinical work.
After having an urban, home based practice for over a decade, in 2012 Colleen created Emery Herbals Botanical Dispensary, Healing Suites and Teaching Centre in the West Kootenay Mountains in Winlaw, BC. Emery Herbals provides open access to consciously sourced botanicals, professional health services and empowering education experiences that encourage and cultivate sustained wellness.
Colleen is passionate about empowering individuals and families to take charge of their wellness through fostering traditional skills and connection to the natural world. Offering access to both onsite and live, online workshops and programs, Emery Herbals provides education opportunities on numerous topics including single day skill building workshops and longer more involved professional herbal and aromatic medicine training programs.
Colleen sits as Vice-Chair on the West Kootenay Permaculture Cooperative Association’s Board of Directors working to encourage local food security through education and community outreach. Colleen also sits as a Vice President of the BCHA. Colleen co-organizes the Kootenay Herb Conference, the Vancouver Island Herb Gathering & the Canadian Herb Conference and is on the faculty of the Wild Rose College.

HERBAL & AROMATIC MEDICINE CONSULTATION
Health and Wellness Initial Consultation
To prepare for the Initial Consult, you will be asked to fill out a detailed intake form with your health history, lifestyle choices and health concerns, including any wellness goals you are working towards. We request clients provide copies of any lab/blood work recently completed and images of your left and right irises and tongue, top and bottom.
What to Expect at your appointment
During the appointment, Colleen reviews your health history and utilizes various evaluation techniques including Chinese tongue/ pulse diagnosis, functional reading of lab work, blood pressure/temperature, iridology and kinesiology. A wellness strategy will be created unique to your specific needs and concerns. A summary of your wellness protocol will be provided and specific Herbal and/or Aromatic medicine formulations may be recommended.
Time commitment: 90 minutes

FOLLOW UP & SUBSEQUENT CONSULTATIONS
After an initial consultation is conducted clients may access ongoing care with Colleen through a followup consult. Follow-up visits are encouraged to regroup and discover what is working to promote and sustain balance in your health and wellness.
Upon your followup consultation your healing strategy and herbal medicines may be re-formulated to include new information now being revealed through the healing process.
Time commitment: 60 minutes.
Clients can also access followup consultations for specific ACUTE CARE concerns. Acute Care appointments are available for existing clients upon short notice via virtual and/or phone access. Acute care appointments are $30 per visit and are typically 30 minutes in duration.

AROMATHERAPY CUSTOM BLENDING SESSION
The world of Aromatherapy is vast and intricate. Are you looking for a personal scent true to your nature? Perhaps you are needing a blend to diffuse in your business or home that is your signature scent? Whether your needs be therapeutic or esthetic in nature, or both, Colleen will help guide you to find the aroma that most describes your current situation.
In this unique session, you will work with Colleen to create your very own aromatherapy blend, custom blended from a vast library of pure essential oils, ethically sourced from all over the world.
Colleen will share and suggest scents to complement your own unique style and personality. You will also learn basic essential oil blending and application, leaving with an aroma true to your needs, as well as the ability to re-create it and others at home on your own.
Time commitment: 60 – 90 minutes
Investment: $75 (cost of blend not included)

The Emery Herbals mentorship program provides herbal medicine students access to one on one support for learning that is specifically tailored to the students needs.
Having a diverse, multi-faceted approach to Herbal and Aromatic Medicine practice that includes Traditional Western Herbalism, Ayurveda, & Traditional Chinese Medicine Colleen offers students unique explorations of learning that are experiential and critical thinking.
Colleen also offers mentorship within the areas of Medicine Making, Pharmacy and Formulation, Holistic Business Management and Product Development, and Clinical Practice.
Longer Term Mentorship is also available in the form of Apprenticeship.
