I feel lucky. So lucky. Lucky to be able to do what I love for a living. I am forever grateful to be able to work at home, in my passion, doing what I love and shockingly, I get paid for it. In my twenties and part of my thirties I worked for others, and I worked very hard. Sometimes I worked at two or even three jobs, long hours, hard work. After a life changing trip to Vancouver Island in the mid nineties I chose to ‘pivot’ and take another direction with my life. A completely different direction. It was a somewhat painful transition, at times I didn’t handle this very gracefully. I said goodbye during that time to many old friends and said hello to many new. Today I express gratitude to that journey. I am forever grateful to have walked that path and ended up where I am. So very grateful.
Phew, that was heavy. Something that’s not so heavy…eggs! (nice segue way). Feeling gratitude today because its egg day!! Every Monday our friendly farmer pals at Blue Mountain Farms drop off a box full of delicious farm eggs for our family to distribute amongst fellow egg loving folk. These eggs come from happy hens that run freely and peck at the ground and have dust baths and eat lovely green veggies and good feed. The yolks are super orange, even in the winter. So grateful to have access to eggs like this. The egg I will poach today will have been laid maybe yesterday or maybe on Friday. Can’t get much fresher than that unless you have chickens in the yard.
And, finally sleep. Quite simply I am grateful for the fact that I can fall asleep, stay asleep and sleep soundly for 7 – 8 hours every night. After the massive sleep deprivation of having a baby the contrast is never lost on me. So grateful for a good nights sleep.
