Mid Week Wrap-Up!

Mid Week Wrap-Up!

Well, its been a week since I wrote. This has been a challenging week to find the time to write, so sorry for the delay everyone!! Its been a week of parties, visits from out of town pals, birthday parties, epic shifts at the Yummy Organic Food Store, field trips with the brownies and equinox celebrations to be had!

Friday was the new moon. New moon means its a time to start new tinctures, just like full moon means its a time to strain and press tinctures. The ebb and flow of the energy of the moon provides a natural rhythm of healing for the medicines. This new moon I started such herbs as Thyme, Elderberry, Schizandra berry, Oregon Grape root, and Spilanthes, all of which are excellent healers for the potential flu season.

Friday night was the Mighty Neighbourly fundraiser event in support of Blue Mountain Biodynamic Farms who were devastated by an intense hail storm this season. Such a great time was had by all, the who’s who in the organic farming community showed up in support of Kris and Tamara, the owner/operators of the farm.

There was a silent auction and live bands to dance to, plus DJ Bruno rounded out the night with a dance set that will go down in history. Although I wasn’t there for that, I was home fast asleep after having to duke it out in the auction to win a long board for the pickle. Shhhh, don’t tell her, its a gift for her birthday thats around the bend. My good pal Jacquie from Swerve magazine mc’d the event, even auctioning the shirt off her back for the farm.

The rest of the week was a bit of blur of activity. Today we are wrapping up projects, reading another chapter in The Sisters Grimm (we are on book 2 now!), giving the house a good scrub and going for another bike ride in what I can only say is the most glorious fall weather I have experienced in many years. Happy Autumn everyone!!
